Certain infections are more frequently associated with autoimmune encephalopathies and neuropsychiatric symptoms. According to our analysis, patients who tested positive on the Autoimmune Brain Panel™ had a history of: Group A Strep, Influenza A, Varicella (chickenpox), Epstein-Barr virus (mono), Mycoplasma, Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease), Babesia, Bartonella, Coxsackie virus (hand, foot & mouth disease), candida and herpes virus.

Note: Patients often have sub-clinical infections. These are infections that do not produce outward, physical symptoms, yet the infection can still cause an immune dysfunction and trigger neurologic and psychiatric symptoms.
